Off Ice Skill Circuit - On Ice Skills
Small Area Games
Breakthrough Hockey promotes player skill development in a creative, competitive, fun learning environment. Our program combines off ice skill circuit training, on ice skill development drills, and small area games. It concentrates on individual skill development with a large portion of the on ice sessions devoted to small area games. These games are designed to allow our students to take what they’ve learned in the skill development segment and apply it in a realistic game situation. Small area games promote the intangible “hockey sense” skills like creativity, reading
and reacting, and anticipation. Within the confined area of the game, players handle the puck more, learn to play in tight situations, are constantly involved and have fun while learning and developing these skills.
